Care Metrics Report Writing Tips

Helping you highlight what matters — clearly, quickly, and meaningfully.

Purpose of Using the Tool

Care Metrics isn’t just a report generator — it’s a guided report writing assistant that helps you reflect the participant’s journey, strengths, and needs in a structured, articulate, and person-centred way. Your answers shape real decisions, so every click counts.

1. Link Your Answers to Participant Goals

When answering a question, ask yourself:

“How does this relate to what the participant wants to achieve?”

“This supports [Name]’s goal of improving daily living skills…”
“Aligned with [Name]’s goal to feel more socially connected…”

2. Include Recovery-Oriented Insights

Think beyond tasks and reflect progress in mindset, resilience, and connection.

“[Name] has become more confident managing their own appointments.”
“They are beginning to re-engage with their local community…”

3. Use Real-Life Examples

When the software asks for “Progress” or “Barriers,” paint a clear picture.

Instead of “He’s doing well,” write:
“He now prepares his own lunch and attends the Men’s Shed every Friday.”

4. Keep the Focus on the Participant

This is their story — the tool helps, but you bring their voice to life.

Use first names instead of “the participant” if your workplace allows. Write like you’re helping the reader understand who they really are.

5. Mention What's Changed

Care Metrics prompts you to identify shifts in need — be clear when something is new, worsening, or resolved.

“Since the last report, [Name] has begun using a mobility aid at home.”
“His housing situation has become unstable following a family breakdown.”
